.:Giants of the sky:. by DoruDrutt .:Giants of the sky:. by DoruDrutt
Finally done ~ ! wanted to make a picture with my main character alien Tzyvee, and a bit screenshot like o3o So she is standing there watching these gigantic helium-head creatues in some cliffy area, at some spiral mountain peaks ~ They are also related as species, but yet far. Tzyvee is also a kind of helium-head, but one who uses it for jumps than constant gliding.

Don't fall off, Tzyvee!

Art and these aliens me

Very alien and beautiful, although the lines on the critters make them pop out a bit, and they look a bit flat. Helium is a noble (inert) gas, so it's very unlikely to be used in biology. Hydrogen and methane are far more attractive sources, and easy to produce. Your aliens must live on a dense-aired world to make good use of that hydrogen.

thank you! ah the reason for the lines and how it looks was to make it cartoon like as disney and the like.
And I see, thanks for correcting as I've been unsure if it was helium that was the more natural gas and so. The gravity of this planet is lower than earth, making some able to float if enough air is taken in like these giants.

To be honest I think it would've looked better without the lines, on par with the work of Alex Ries, but it's your painting :)
The thing most people don't realize when working with low-gravity worlds is that the atmosphere is under less pressure from gravity, and as a result is less compressed and more rarified, essentially making the atmosphere thinner (albeit this is cancelled out by the lower gravity, making flight on such a world equivalent to flight on Earth), cancelling the effects one might think gravity would have on aerodynamics. You could always increase the density of the atmosphere though.
