FoodWorld characters

So, finally some people of my food world thing. (FoodWorld as title is for now most likely just a temp name) You might have seen art of some food creatures previously.

As for now, I have 3 mains. And then there is the other important ones, a type of gang that together works in this restaurant, which the main character Soto (the first soup guy in
the line up) works in as well. Only Soto and Lash (the grey stew guy) have a name. Lash is also created by my friend! And did a great job with him as he fits in nicely. You can check out her art here: kiobirb.tumblr.com/ !

Current summary of story: A world there all people and creatures is based of food (not literally made of!). It also has a 80's setting. It's about this skilled but insecure soup guy called Soto, who covers himself up, and an eggplant guy who is his best friend and then a banana girl who joins in later (Still have to name them). Soto and eggplant guy lives in this kinda poor town called Brownbean town and have both low paid jobs. Even tough they have that they help out street kids who have it worse than them, as they have had quite a hard time themselves as young. Soto doesn't enjoy his place there he works, in a low paid restaurant, and hopes to find a way to get money to open up a place of his own, and help the street kids as well. At some time, a worker find out that Soto sneaks out food to the kids trough a vent, which angers the shady restaurant workers and then tries to find a way to kick him out to prevent him to do it again. While they managed to get Soto out, it kind of backfires later for them, as the restaurants reputation went down fast for what they did (That they blamed Soto for). Without a job to help himself or those in need, he and (eggplant guy) have to figure out a way for him to earn money. Thanks to a newspaper ad about a food contest in the main center city with great prize money, they think they have the right idea. However, the contest seems to be more than just cooking the food, but have to gather certain foreign ingredients themselves trough traveling to the different worlds. And it won't be easy, especially when accidentally ending up in harsh environments or meeting strange and dangerous food creatures to deal with.

Name: Soto
Type: Soup
Age: 22
Bio: The main character and works in a low paid restaurant as a cook, there he makes food that don't really fit to his tastes. Having a usually annoyed boss and shady gang of
workers doesn't make it much better. He hopes to open up his own place one day, to make the food he enjoys to do at home. But it seems like an impossible dream, being poor already
and having a rough life. Despite having a hard time himself, he does care for others who have it like him or worse. Being orphaned at early age and lived in an orphanage wasn't
great, so he helps kids set in similar situations that roam the streets. Some of them have escaped the orphanage and rather live as a group on the streets. Sometimes kids wait
outside a vent there Soto can sneak out food at times. His best friend is (Eggplant guy) and his support since childhood as well. Being insecure, introvert and hiding self, his
friend is the total opposite and tries to help him trough tough times.

Type: Banana
Age: 23
Bio: Very optimistic, sassy and carefree, she does what mostly fits her. She worked in a bar before joining Soto and (Eggplant guy). They got a deal about money as she knows
contacts that Soto might have need of. She had a quite simple and alright past, growing up in a large city with both parents. She haven't seen much of the outside world however other
than different towns and cities. In the beginning she might seem to only care for the money Soto and (Eggplant guy) made a deal off, but trough the journey realizes traveling was
what she really needed to get out of that city. And also begins a great friendship with the two.

Type: Eggplant
Age: 25
Bio: The secondary main character. Supportive, caring and usually a smile on his face, he helps Soto trough rough times. He lives in the same town, and he works with moving stuff
along with a truck and other workers, and he usually handles the heavy things. Like Soto, he did not either grow up with any parents, but did have his grandma to live with. She's
still alive and he have to take care of her at times. Along with Soto, he helps out the street kids as well and have even built a shelter for them with the money he gets, and
fixes it from time to time when he can get new materials. Once they get to the large city and meets (Banana girl) in the bar, he also takes great interest in her and hopes she'll
join, which she finally does once she hears about where they will go and about the money deal to help them out.


The gang: To others, they seem a bit shady and have their own ways to try to gain money. They each have their personal reasons. They decided to share a building to live in together to get as much money saved as possible. All 5, one by one managed to get into a restaurant to work in, by finding ways to get the previous workers fired just so they all could work together. They don't find much interest in the actual job at all and just wants the money. The only one who seems to care more is (Garlic guy) as he enjoys cooking. But neither enjoys the place as whole. Soto is doing own things behind their back, and once they find out where some of the food goes that he gives out to poor kids, they try to find a way to get him out, and succeeds. However, they didn't realize that it would put them in an even worse situation later on and have to deal with their mistakes.

Type: Garlic
Age: 23
Bio: He's a cook just as Soto and is skills are fine for what he does. He moved out some years ago there he lived with his mother and little 3 sisters, and had to help out quite a
lot being the oldest sibling. By agreeing with the rest of the gang to work in a restaurant together, he saves some money to give to his family at times. Personality wise, he's
the one who seems to be the most caring and nicest of the gang, even having a hard time saying no to things. However, he sometimes forgets about personal space, and having a
garlic breath doesn't make it better. He sometimes talk too much or about irrelevant things, and sometimes never comes to the point. His best friend is Lash, and they usually get
together to prank back on (Bean guy) whenever he's up to something.

Type: Coffee bean
Age: 27
Bio: Hyperactive, smiling and quite a fast talker, as long as he have had enough coffee. If not, he turns complete opposite and something you don't wanna mess with, even tough his
optimistic side can be terrible in a way too. He lived in a large family with many siblings, and usually looked down on by his siblings, both the older and younger for his
behavior. Even tough his kind is usually short, he's still a bit shorter than usual. Sometimes it feels like he's asking for trouble, and being a speedy thing he can easily get
away, for the time. He works as a cleaner in the restaurant. He also enjoys to dance, and not unusual to see him sing and dance while sweeping the floor somewhere.

Name: Lash
Type: Stew
Age: 24
Bio: Sly and Savvy, an untrustworthy bowl of trouble and deceit. What he lacks in brawn he makes up with brains. It's just a shame that none of that helped him to make…
particularly good life choices. Lash was traveling from town to town before he ended up in same place as everyone else, Brownbean Town, and simply because he ran out of money.
Brownbean Town became his permanent home after he met up with the gang. He's the waiter at the restaurant. Outside of his job he tends to be busy with rather shady scheme's
as well. Personality wise, Lash is pretty outspoken, he knows what to say in most tight situations and doesn't care much about the double minded. He can be pretty arrogant and
spiteful to those who stand in his way and one could say his envious nature got him stuck in this town. (Garlic guy) is his best friend.

Type: Cabbage
Age: 29
Bio: The oldest of the gang, and can even act like a "mom" of sorts, as she know what each needs, like times (Bean guy) needs his coffee for example. It goes by automatic. However, if one tries to demand anything of her, it won't end well and they know it pretty much by now. They rather do as she says to avoid trouble as they know how she can be. She's sarcastic and knows what to say, and usually seen standing or sitting somewhere smoking. She’s usually the one the guys go to for advice, even tough it’s not always the best idea. And she is always right, even if she is actually wrong. Don’t ever tell her that she’s wrong. She works as a cashier and puts in dishes at times. She also have a daughter of 10 years, and is separated so sees her daughter only every 2nd week, and saves up some money to spend on her.

Type: Cauliflower
Age: 25
Bio: Usually calm, quiet and collected, and enjoys to spend time for himself. Actually very smart and solves problems well. But one who no one should annoy, as they know that a
fist might come flying towards them. He actually rarely wants to respond with violence, but does have a line, a line that (Bean guy) usually breaks. He works as a disher in the
restaurant. He also seems to like to draw, and the pictures found is usually drawings of flowers. He'd like to be an artist, but the low pay prevents him at times to update to
better art material and sometimes can't afford enough money to travel to get certain stuff he needs.
